Hujambo and Happy New Year Everybody. (Hujambo= Swahili for hello) As we begin this "Black History Month", I would like to challenge all of my followers to do better and be better. Let us strive to exemplify the virtue and leadership of a true America. I challenge each and every one of you to take time out to learn a new history fact facilitated by a Black American and then teach that information to at least one other person. No race of people should have their Historical contributions relegated to just 28 days, however, Dr. Carter G. Woodson, a distinguished Black author, editor, publisher, and historian, recognized the need for such recognition. Originally referred to as Black History Week. Dr. Woodson selected February to encompass the birthdays of two great Americans who played a prominent role in shaping Black history, namely Abraham Lincoln, and Frederick Douglass, whos birthdays are the 12th and the 14th, respectively. And to my Good Brothers of Iota Phi Theta, Pick up your Bow and grab your Shield, we have work to do this month. Ow Ow!!!!!
